Your Questions, Answered

If you are thinking of placing your child in care or know someone that is, we know you probably have a lot of questions. We have listed the most common ones below, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if don’t see your query listed.

We would love to chat with you or answer any additional questions you might have.

Who do you support at your residential care home?

We specialise in looking after young people from the ages of 8-17 who have emotional and behavioural difficulties who for a variety of reasons aren’t able to live in their original home environment. The homes also support young people who have additional needs such as learning disabilities, mental health issues and young people on the autism spectrum.

How do I arrange a visit?

If you are a parent or local authority, simply get in touch with us via the contact page to arrange a visit to Serenity. We would love to discuss our facilities and let you get a feel for the reassuring environment we provide.

What kind of additional support is provided at your specialist care homes for children with learning disabilities?

We cater exclusively to children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, which means our entire care home is set up to respond to their requirements.

Will I be able to visit my child once they are placed in care?

This largely depends on your situation and status, however, we do promote parent-child contact where possible. As long as you are not legally prevented from visiting your child, we encourage you to do so as often as you can.

What steps do you take to aid development?

Along with highly tailored facilities and specialist staff, we promote a more positive future for every child with a personalised package of care. This can include anything from additional tutoring to special diets, monitoring, and therapy. Every child and young person is assigned a key worker to consistently monitor their needs and development.

How do I make a referral?

You can find more information and a referral form available for download on the contact page.

What qualifications do your staff have?

The team at Serenity have been selected based not only on their outstanding professional achievements and their years of experience, but also because of their personal values and the passion they display for their work. All of our staff are thoroughly DBS checked and hold relevant childcare qualifications, which can be seen on request.
